Screenpresso can capture images and video of your screen activity. The program can be installed on your computer but it also runs in portable mode. Screenpresso has an intuitive interface; however, an exploration of all its features is required before you can take advantage of all its potential. The tool can run from the System Tray and respond to key combinations, such as PrtSc. It can also be accessed by clicking on its icon there. A very convenient feature is that you can create various workspaces to store your captures, and they can even be set to synchronize with an online location.
The application provides various capturing methods. In the case of still images, you can grab the complete screen or just a section of it. Besides, it supports making a shot with a three-second delay. It’s nice the program can grab an image from a scrolling window. However, a part of this process hasn’t been completely automated, as the user still has to scroll the contents and take the shots manually, while the program takes care of finding overlapping areas to reconstruct the image. I was really impressed by the possibility of extracting text using OCR technology and deciphering a QR code, but I couldn’t really test these features as they both need installing a third-party extension. The screenshots, which can be saved in various picture formats, appear as thumbnails in the selected workspace. From there, they can be edited in Picasa, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Paint. Moreover, the tool has a built-in picture editor supporting various drawing and marking tools as well as OCR. more
