Screenpresso is a comprehensive tool that helps you capture screenshots and record on-screen video. Then you can apply some editing to your captured images and/or video. The program is capable of capturing high-quality screenshots and HD video files from your screen, while you can fully configure the output format and the general quality for both outputs.
By default, Screenpresso catches the PrntScr key of your keyboard, so that when you press it the program automatically turns into "screenshot region" mode. It allows you to capture a specific window or region of your screen and save it according to your configured settings. The program also assigns other key combinations for alternative actions, such as full-screen capture, auto-scroll capture, full-screen video record, region video record, and webcam display. However, this model presents a little problem ─ it forces you to memorize all those key combinations to be able to use the corresponding functions effectively.
Screenpresso offers a settings window where you can tweak all the relevant parameters on a tabbed panel. There is, for example, the "Screenshot" tab, where you can set the output image format, the file name, and the number of files to keep. The "Video Capture" tab, on the other hand, allows you to set the output video codec, its quality level, and its capture frame rate. In this tab you can also enable or disable the capture of the mouse cursor, its clicks, and the sound stream. Another configuration tab is "Hot keys", which allows you to customize the key combinations that trigger all the supported actions. more
